What do you think?
I usually have been doing powertraining but never to this extent. Mostly my exercises have consisted of 4 sets 5 reps (somewhere around there), and perhaps on some very heavy deadlifts 200kg plus it would be one, or 190kg squats.
These guys seem to know what they are doing. I think it is incredible what the human body is capable of when trained consistently and correctly with discipline. |

Professor has posted about westside technique. You might try running a search. _________________ I don't need you to remind me of my age. I have a bladder to do that for me.

I would try to find someone in your gym or area who trains the Westside method and train with them.
I have used some of the principles and methods alongside powerlifters who train using it full-time, I've seen guys jump up in strength and size very quickly using the methods. _________________ WHEN THE LION ROARS, HE ROARS! |

I wont go into a treatise on WSB, because it changes with the marketing winds to some extent....Which can be one of their strengths, they do not entirely discount anything, even if it is apparently absurd without first experimenting with it and seeing if it will help. When I PLed, I did use a good amount of WSB, but also utilized HIT as well as integrating Ed Coans program....particularly for squats...as well as plyometrics and to keep things dynamic and spicey, I would train with some strongmen as well on occasion. A very ecletic approach? I guess, but it was also planned. _________________ I feel as though I have spent my life on a island surrounded by monkeys. A Jones. |

Westside style is King if you are training for strength. Along with proper diet and supplementation I have made significant gains in my training program over the past 1-2 years. My box squat went from 585 to 730, Deadlift about 725 to 850, and overhead push press from 315 to 385. I have modified it for strongman so I exchanged the bench workouts for overhead workouts, but the proof is in the pudding as they say. _________________ always learning! |
